Description
The town of Pushkin, which was also called the Tsar's Village, or Tsarskoe Selo—one of the earliest imperial residences of the Russian emperors—is a fascinating monument of the world's architectural and gardening arts.
It is situated around 40 kilometers from St. Petersburg, and it takes about 50 minutes to get there. The Catherine Palace is one of the best examples of Russian baroque. The Palace contains exquisite decorative objects, furniture, and Russian and Western European paintings, as well as a unique collection of porcelain, amber, weapons, decorative bronze, sculptures, and more.
The famous Amber Room is located here.
