Destination — Saint Petersburg
2 days tour

Description

On your first day, your tour will take you straight to Tsarskoye Selo. This town is also known as Pushkin, in honor of the great Russian poet. It is here in the Catherine Palace that you will see the one and only, the world-famous Amber Room, which disappeared without a trace during World War II. It is certainly worth a look! And on this tour, checking out this national treasure is a piece of cake.

The program also includes a scrumptious lunch at Podvorie, an authentic Russian restaurant. Its massive wooden chamber, beautiful green territory, and national delicacies are certain to steal your heart. After filling up on this delicious meal, you will set off towards another portion of surprises on a tour of Pavlovsk, the residence of Paul I. Once evening dawns and you find yourself both tired and fulfilled, you will make your way back to the ship. Pavlovsk may be substituted with our famous Peterhof, the kingdom of fountains. All the fountains there are supplied with water naturally by gravity without the use any pumps—a surprising fact, considering everything you will see at Peterhof was designed in the 18th century.

On day two, you'll climb the colonnade of St. Isaac's Cathedral where you will be met with a stunning panorama of all of Saint Petersburg. Next, you will visit the Church on Spilled Blood and have the chance to view the tombs of several members of the imperial house of Romanov at Peter and Paul Fortress.

And no tour would be complete without the Hermitage! This museum holds a jaw-dropping 3 million works of art. These cultural treasures are guarded by none other than the Hermitage cats, who live in the basement of the museum. It sounds like a legend, but these 'security guards' are the real thing.
