On this excursion, you will have the chance to see many of the places mentioned in the book and even make the famous 730 steps fr om Raskolnikov’s home to the site wh ere he murdered the old lady. Naturally, with some shots of vodka on the way.

Although the famous writer gained notoriety during his lifetime, he nonetheless spent nearly all his days in poverty. Fyodor Dostoevsky was forced to work within the system of penal servitude, bound to pay off his deceased brother’s debts. More about this and other interesting facts from the author’s life will be presented on the tour.

Dostoevsky loved to play roulette, and he once lost big while trying his luck at the game in Europe. In order to pay off his money lenders, he had to write and publish a new novel in around a month. With the help of his future wife, stenographer Anna Snitkina, Dosteovsky was able to finish The Gambler in a mere 21 days. A true feat!
