Description
3 days of tours onshore in St. Petersburg can make for a rich, full trip and even an adventure!
First, you will meet legendary Tsarskoye Selo, which is where great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin lived and studied. We bet you've heard of him. And you most certainly must have heard of the Amber Room! On your tour of the Catherine Palace you will finally get to see it in person. Touching it probably won't be an option, but you can look around to your heart's desire.
Moving onwards, the tour program brings us to Pavlovsk and the Palace of Paul I. But first, an exquisite lunch at the authentic Russian restaurant Podvorie, which is housed in a traditional-style wooden building. Even President Vladimir Putin himself has dined here.
After a captivating stroll along the shaded lanes of Pavlovsk Park, which were created in accordance with the English canon, you will make your way back to the boat. Peterhof, with its park of over 100 fountains, may be selected as an alternative for Pavlovsk. Peterhof is often referred to as the Russian Versailles. Your heart will sing at the impeccable beauty and elegance of its palace and park ensemble. It's difficult not to be reminded of the estate's creator, Peter I, who personally decreed that the Russian emperors' summer residence be established here. It is no surprise that people come from the world over to see it. On the next day, after some much-needed rest, you will finish up your vigorous march to St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Church on Spilled Blood, Peter and Paul Fortress, and the Hermitage.
The third day of tours is dedicated to magnificent Yusupov Palace, which has an exposition on Rasputin’s murder in the cells of the palace. This day is also dedicated to your own preferences and free time, with our guide and minivan/car.
