Golden Ring tour - Short Golden Ring tour

Short Golden Ring of Russia – 3 days / 2 nights
(Moscow –Vladimir–Suzdal-Moscow)

Bogolyubovsky Monastery   Suzdal on river Kamenka   Russian village on Golden Ring Tour

This is a short Golden Ring tour, which comprises three main cities – Moscow, Vladimir and Suzdal. Generally the Golden Ring consists of small ancient towns around Moscow. It is the most popular tourist route through the Russian provinces. During the tour you will have a chance to see Russian towns' beautiful churches, monasteries, fortresses, kremlins; enjoy the scenery of a country side, take hundreds of photos and have a wonderful time.

Moscow is a capital of the Russian Federation, first mentioned in the annals in 1147. It is the largest in the country and one of the most political, industrial and cultural centers in the world. The Kremlin, a north-pointing triangle with sides 750m (2460ft) long, is at the heart of Moscow in every way — symbolically, historically and strategically. Red Square lies along its east side, the Moscow River flows past its south side. From here, Moscow spreads out in four distinctive rings of development, each area having its own collection of monasteries, museums and elegant buildings. Other Moscow sights include: State Tretyakov Gallery, Pushkin Museum of Arts, Novodevichy Monastery and Convent, Cathedral of Christ the Savior and many more. Moscow is obviously the center of the Golden Ring.

Vladimir was founded in either 990 or 1108, depending on which historians you refer to. For the better part of two centuries (from 1169 to the mid 1300s) it was the capital of ancient Rus. Vladimir is now considered one of the major towns of the Golden Ring community towns which have played a significant role in the Russian history. Among many other attractions, the city boasts three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These are the Golden Gates, Vladimir's unofficial symbol; the Assumption and St. Dimitry Cathedrals.

Suzdal was first mentioned in 1024. However the city has remained young and beautiful. Suzdal stands along the banks of the Kamenka river. The scenery gives you an idea of the boundless territory of Russia. This is a picturesque green town, where you can at the same time feel the russian country life and enjoy walks around fairy tale dome convents. Inside Suzdal the atmosphere is as if nothing had changed since the nineteenth century, goats, chicken and cows graze freely next to the kremlin and monasteries, and on the grassy lanes. The sights include St.Euthymius Monastery of Our Savior, Convent of the Intercession, Museum of Wooden Architecture.
