The Corinthia Nevsky Palace hotel was built in totally reconstructed historical buildings of the 19th century located in the very center of the city – Nevsky Prospect. It combines two buildings, a neo-classical mansion built by Arthur Lange in 1861 and the former home of the Samoilov family which overlooks Stremyannaya street. The main building housed the Hotel Hermes from 1920 to 1957 and the Baltiyskaya Hotel from 1958 to 1989. Retaining its classic facade, the interior was completely rebuilt offering a fine blend hi-tech style and art deco. The hotel houses one of the top dining places in the city – the Landscrona Restaurant.
