Program
DAY ONE
- Arrival in Irkutsk
- Transfer to hotel/homestay
- Walking city tour
- Excursion to 1 museum.
DAY TWO
- Morning transfer to railway station and suburban train to “Dark valley” station (2.5 hrs)
- Walk 4 km down valley to Round-Baikal Railroad
- Sightseeing at Baikal shore
- Lunch
- ORR train for 5 hrs
- Overnight in family in Port Baikal or in Listvyanka.
DAY THREE
- Excursion to the cave where the aboriginal people of the Iron Age once lived
- Trekking (sea kayaking) along the shore to village Bolshie Koty (17 km). Gold used to be extracted from there about 40 years ago
- Overnight in tents/hostel
DAY FOUR
- Trekking (sea kayaking) or hydrofoil to settlement Listvyanka (25 km) situated on Lake Baikal shore at the outlet of the Angara river
- Overnight in tents/hostel
DAY FIVE
- Transfer to Irkutsk by public transport.
- Overnight in Irkutsk at hotel/homestay
DAY SIX
- Free time
- Transfer to railway station/airport. Departure from Irkutsk
Important information about the tour:
- Trekking from May 20 till September 20
- Canoe trips from June 10 till August 25
- Ages up to 50-55. Difficulty - STRENUOUS.
- Both villages, Listvyanka and Bolshie Koty are located at the shore of Lake Baikal
